Transition and Leadership

Welcome to Year 11 GROWTH Pastoral Care Program: Transition and Leadership

Year 11 is a time of transition and leadership — a time when young people begin to take greater responsibility for their actions, explore what it means to influence others positively, and prepare for the challenges and opportunities of Year 12. This year focuses on transition and leadership — building the skills, knowledge, and strategies to grow as a leader in your school, community, and personal life. Together, we’ll explore what it means to take responsibility, influence others positively, and prepare for the challenges and opportunities of Year 12.

Across the year, students will:

  • Define self-leadership and identify personal strengths and areas for growth, laying the foundation for confident, independent decision-making.
  • Create a personal vision statement that reflects their aspirations and values, guiding their leadership journey.
  • Use SMART goals to plan for success, developing practical skills in time management, goal setting, and resilience.
  • Discover practical strategies to balance responsibilities effectively, including tools like time-blocking and prioritisation frameworks.
  • Practise structured decision-making techniques and build accountability systems to track goals and ensure follow-through.
  • Learn strategies for staying motivated and bouncing back from setbacks, and identify and implement habits that promote productivity and balance.

Let’s lay a strong foundation for the year ahead by focusing on your personal growth and leadership potential!
